I am totally ok with piercing and tattoos as i have a few of them myself. My question is this: What do you think an appropriate age is for a tongue piercing? and why or why not.... lol I'd like some opinions please and thank you!

Im ok with the piercings too. My daughter is alost 15 and recently pierced her nose (not w/ my permission) and she has her ears gauged to 6ish. IMO if my daughter wants a tongue piercing she is going to have to wait until shes at least 18. I am in no way prudish, but I think that tongue piercings are a little more risque and suggestive and not as 'innocent' as say, a nose piercing. I feel the same way about navel rings.

    18. some things in life are worth waiting for. i feel the same about gauging out peircings. nose and cartiliedge i think is fine esp. since these are easiest peircings. . this is coming from a goth with peircings.

since i took all of mine out (i had several pieces piercings before i was done) years before i had my girl, i say never. i chipped a couple of teeth on my tongue piercing and really it did nothing for me so i vote never. but that is just me. hmm. i have nothing against piercings on anyone else, but for me i am glad they are gone and i do not miss them.

I have had several piercings myself. and although they were cool while they lasted, all I have is my ears still pierced. *sometimes* I wear a tiny nose stud, but I usually have to buy one to wear it. I always lose them.

Well I let my daughter get her ears stretched for her 14th birthday this past March. 12guage.. No biggie as far as I'm concerned, but I told her she has to wait another few years b4 I would even consider a tongue piercing. I have my tongue pierced (had it for years) and never had a problem with chipping of teeth... What kind of ball were u using?

      stainless balls.

chips and salsa.. my dentist says he has seen a lot of chipping with tongue piercings. he smoothed out the chips in the enamel (they were very minor, but I wasn't into chips no matter how minor).

Been wanting to get my nipples done, but wanted to wait until after having a second baby. I barely had any milk due to a breast reduction, and did not want to make it any less. Anyone with experience with nips being pierced with kids?

I think piercing are pretty ok for kids (teens, not toddlers.) , since it is not quite as permanent as a tattoo. But the sexy piercings on kids are a bit weird. I think tongue is the only one I would make my child wait until 18 for.

I had nipple peircings for a couple a of years BEFORE having the little kids.

I can remember a couple of times when I would have a let down the milk would also shoot from the outter hole on the right side. it was hilarious.

on the other hand there is a mama who had (10g) or bigger in her nipples for years and never exp anything adverse.

yep same thing here with the nipple spraying. weird thing is that by the the time i was done breastfeeding the holes had closed !
i agree about waiting till 18 for a tongue peircing.i have two badly chipped teeth, thankfully they are not in front.
my partner and in ahve also agredd that our daughter can have her ears pierced when she is old enough to be responsible about cleaning and caring for them herself. my mother did that with me, so i was about 9 when got my first holes.
